We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful personal stylist Yana Anders.  We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Yana below.

Journalist: Hi Yana, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Yana Anders: As the owner of Style Fix Studio and a certified personal stylist in Boston, MA, I am passionate about helping women and men of all ages and body types discover their unique style. My goal is to ensure that my clients not only look their best but also feel truly confident and comfortable in their clothing.

I work closely with each client to develop a wardrobe that aligns with their personal and professional aspirations, transforming the image they project and the message it conveys about them. By focusing on dressing strategically for their body type, I highlight their best features, enhance their natural attributes, and minimize any areas of concern, creating a confident and polished look tailored just for their body type, color palette, lifestyle and budget.

This mission has personal significance for me. Growing up in the Soviet Union, where consumer goods were scarce due to a socialist planned economy, I learned how to create clothing from my grandmother, a self-taught dressmaker, and my mother, an adept knitter. They both worked, my grandmother as an administrator and my mother as a financial analyst in the oil industry. Yet, in their free time, they crafted their own clothing, ensuring they always appeared chic and elegant.

My mother and my grandmother taught me to create garments from scratch that were not only stylish but also perfectly suited to my body type and personality. I remember the confidence that came with wearing clothes that truly suited me. This early education in fashion and self-expression taught me to be resourceful and creative, inspiring me to help others discover the joy of dressing well.

When I immigrated from Russia to the United States 25 years ago, I was amazed by the abundance of beautiful, stylish clothing available at reasonable prices in the US stores. However, I noticed that many women I met were unsure of how to dress for their body type or choose the right color palette. This was surprising to me, as I had seen my mother create stunning outfits from very limited resources that made her look like a movie star.

I believe that understanding one’s body and learning how to dress for it can help women look fabulous and feel secure. My goal is to share this knowledge and passion with my clients, helping them embrace their unique style that matches their body shape and feel confident in their appearance.
