Yana Anders of Boston, MA
We recently had the chance to connect with Yana Anders of Boston and have shared our conversation below.

Journalist: Hi Yana, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
Yana Anders: Running my personal styling business for the past 15 years has taught me so much about the relationship between clothing and confidence. It’s surprising how many people underestimate the power of a first impression. I often meet clients who own beautiful homes and drive luxury cars but haven’t updated their wardrobe in a decade, wearing pieces that no longer fit their body or their lifestyle. Whether it’s ‘closet fatigue’ from owning too many uncoordinated items or simply not knowing how to put a look together, my goal is to help them finally invest in themselves as much as they do in their possessions.
Journalist: Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Yana Anders: My name is Yana Anders, I am a certified personal stylist and the founder of Style Fix Studio in Boston, MA. My mission is simple: I create stunning outfits that help men and women of all ages and sizes look and feel fabulous!
While many online styling services use algorithms to guess your preferences, I offer a hands-on, expert alternative. There’s a big difference between an algorithm and an expert eye. A great outfit requires more than just matching a client’s budget, taste and size; it requires an understanding of body architecture and color theory. I work with my clients to showcase their best features and hide areas of concern through precise styling.
To me, styling is personal. We all have parts of our bodies we love and parts we’re a little shy about. My job is to show you how to celebrate your best features and minimize your imperfections and find the colors that truly make you glow based on your unique skin tone and contrast. I don’t just shop for you; I curate a wardrobe that mirrors your dreams and professional goals, ensuring that every time you get dressed, you feel like the very best version of yourself.
Journalist: Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Yana Anders: I didn’t choose the stylist life, the stylist life chose me! It started with friends asking me to go shopping or help them pull an outfit together. They’d say, ‘Yana, how do you know which colors go together?’ or ‘Why does this look so much better when you style it?’ I realized I wasn’t just picking out clothes; I was teaching them how to see themselves in a new light. It was their encouragement and belief in my eye for detail that finally inspired me to turn my passion into Style Fix Studio.

Journalist: If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Yana Anders: If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be this: “Try not to listen to the skeptics. Do what you love!” It is so easy to let other people’s doubts and opinions shape our decisions, but no one knows your heart better than you do. When people say, “That’s too hard,” or “It won’t work,” remember that they are speaking from their own fears, not your potential. Don’t let someone else’s “no” stop you. Trust your intuition—it’s the only compass you truly need. Your life belongs to you.
Journalist: Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Yana Anders: I’ve met so many brilliant, successful men and women who have everything going for them—except their dating life. Often, they’ll tell me, “I just want my date to appreciate my personality and my brain, not my outfit.”
I completely agree that your heart and mind are what matter most! But the reality is that a first impression is like a movie trailer—it sets the stage for the story you’re about to tell. When we underestimate our look, we sometimes accidentally close the door before we’ve even had a chance to speak.
It’s not just about how others see you, either. Have you ever heard of Enclothed Cognition? It’s a fancy term for a very simple feeling: the way our clothes change how we think and act. When you wear something that makes you feel polished and confident, your brain actually catches up to that feeling. You stand taller, you engage more, and you radiate a different kind of energy. I love helping my clients find that ‘magic’ outfit—the one that doesn’t just look good, but makes them feel unstoppable on a first date.
Journalist: Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What false labels are you still carrying?
Yana Anders: I often hear people say, “I’d love a stylist, but I’m not a celebrity!” or “Isn’t that just a luxury I don’t need?” But that’s not true! A personal stylist is actually one of the best ways to save money.
We’ve all been there—staring at a closet packed with clothes, yet feeling like we have absolutely nothing to wear. Usually, it’s because we’ve spent years buying “mystery pieces” that don’t fit quite right or don’t match anything else we own. That’s where I come in!
I love helping my clients clear the clutter and curate a wardrobe they truly adore. Imagine if getting dressed in the morning wasn’t a struggle, but a treat! With the custom lookbooks I create, the “hard part” is already done. You just pick an outfit I’ve styled for you from head to toe, and you’re ready to take on the day with confidence. It’s about making your life simpler, one beautiful outfit at a time.
